Live your healthiest life with Live Wise Naturals

I recently sat down with Joan Pagano, 75, fitness expert and certified personal trainer specializing in strength training for women. Her mantra is "aging gracefully takes muscle." As explained in her book, Strength Training Exercises for Women, Pagano believes women can override the physical changes from aging; it's never too late to start for those who haven't been active.
A well-rounded health and fitness program that includes cardio workouts, strength training, essential supplements, and stretching makes the perfect recipe for staying upright and healthy, says Pagano. "While the body needs essential supplements to boost our energy level and to fight off exhaustion, cardio gives us longevity, and strength training gives us the quality of life we need to push forward. Together they help our bodies defend against chronic diseases including osteoporosis."
Each element helps to reinforce the next, like a chain, perfectly designed to build muscles and strength - helping to slow down the aging process along the way. Sure, eating right and exercising is important for everyone, but according to the American Council on Exercise after 50 it becomes even more crucial as sedentary adults can lose up to 40 percent of their body’s muscle mass.
Like everything else, maintaining a healthy diet that includes the right nutrients can be a challenge. For instance, are you getting enough Vitamin D3 & K2 to support a healthy bone composition or will you be adding additional stress to your bones by incorporating additional exercises into your routine?
If you are not sure, speak with your doctor or a registered dietitian to find out if you are missing any important vitamins or minerals. Vitamins like D3 & K2 are considered a powerhouse combination to help support bone strength and circulatory support and a supplement such as Live Wise Naturals D3+K2 liquid drops were designed for optimal calcium absorption.
Pagano, who has worked with many women during her 30+year career, including Jackie Onassis, encourages an aggressive approach to strength training without causing injury. "We need to take charge and be proactive as we get older to do what we can to maintain youthful bodies. People who work out in their 50s will be less debilitated when they are old."
